The concert Lecuona y La Habana, by Ópera de la Calle, recorded in 2019 in the García Lorca Hall of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, will be able to be enjoyed by a larger audience starting tomorrow, thanks to its online presentation in DVD format.
With the executive production of the Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM), and the musical production of the director of the group, baritone Ulises Aquino, together with maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa, what happened that night will arrive in an audiovisual titled Al Fin Lecuona, signed by the renowned filmmaker René Arencibia.
Creator of countless works both vocal and instrumental, Ernesto Lecuona has been extensively addressed from diverse eras, but always with the seal of authenticity that distinguishes his work.
This time, the new recordings gave different meaning to the compositions that were carefully selected for the program, with emphasis on the orchestral arrangements that maestro Rembert Egües made in past decades.
Prestigious guests such as Frank Fernández, soprano Laura Ansorena, tenor Humberto Bernal, as well as Cuban-American violinist Jaime Jorge, filled the night with tributes to the prolific composer and pianist from Guanabacoa.
Likewise, the support of the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Pérez Mesa, and the indispensable presence of Ópera de la Calle, completed the configuration of a magical night perfectly captured by the cameras led by Arencibia.
One of the most legitimate objectives of the concert, bringing the work of the creator of La Comparsa and Damisela Encantadora to new generations, found in Ulises Aquino, his Company and guests, ideal disseminators and protagonists.
Creations such as Siboney, Romanza de María la O, Te he visto pasar, and Te vas juventud, achieved impeccable performances on the stage of the grand hall, to close the evening with the Plegaria a la Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre with the talent of all those present.
The online presentation of Al Fin Lecuona will be available starting this Friday, February fifth on EGREM's social networks, to the delight of lovers of some of the best Cuban music.
