Cuban-American Roberto Medina Torres, who was the president of a small business registered under the name Renova SURL in the province of Camagüey, was murdered.
Through social media, farewell messages for Medina Torres can be read, owner of a small private company that sells technological equipment.
"When a friend leaves, and more than that, is taken from you, there is no consolation. RIP, beloved brother," wrote journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso.
Meanwhile, the German Office for Trade Promotion and Investment in Cuba also left a note regarding the entrepreneur's passing.
Our office "regrets the death of our colleague Roberto Medina, president of the small business Renova SURL. We remember Roberto as a great entrepreneur and a great human being. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and work colleagues," they said.
On the other hand, on the Facebook page of the small business, they also said goodbye to him.
"The RENOVA S.U.R.L. family is in mourning, our leader has departed. These have been very difficult days for everyone, because assimilating the loss of someone who was more than a boss, a close family member or one of those friends you love forever, is not easy," it reads.
"Roberto left without saying goodbye, because some took it upon themselves to take a life that did so much good. A man who extended his hand to many without expecting anything in return; that's why his goodbye hurts more," they argued.
Likewise, they thanked the farewell messages for Medina Torres and committed to continuing his company.
"The family and work team of RENOVA express our absolute willingness to continue his legacy more united, with the experience he leaves us and the knowledge of a company consolidated despite setbacks. We know the enormous responsibility that our organization entails for our families and our clients. And although physically the one who gave it its initial energy is no longer here, the team will not abandon the goal of becoming a national leader, a company committed to the future, as he himself defined it," they concluded.
A note from the independent media outlet Cubanos por el Mundo said that the Cuban-American "was found dead near Jagüey Grande," in the province of Matanzas, allegedly "in a lagoon near the aforementioned Cuban city."
The media outlet added that "this Cuban-American apparently had been living in Camagüey for a few months, where the company Renova SURL (Limited Liability Company) is located, of which he was the owner."
"Among the products marketed by this 'small company' were solar panels, batteries, computers, among others, which led him to have certain contact with members of the dictatorship," indicated the aforementioned media outlet.

A note published by the official newspaper Adelante recognized Renova as a "private company" and Roberto Medina as the "president and sole partner of the Limited Liability Company."
"With only a few months of being established, the small business from Camagüey already has important work results and aspires to consolidate itself as a leading company in this sector in Cuba," added, for its part, Oncuba.
