Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra finished in fourth position at the seventh edition of the Giro dell'Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite, a classic race in the northern Emilia-Romagna region in Italy, which had the participation of 123 cyclists from around the world.
With a time of 02:12:02 hours, the Gran Ma native competed as the main figure for the Spanish Movistar Team, and was only surpassed by local rider Elisa Longo (02:11:53 hours), American Verónica Ewers (02:11:56) and Italian Sofía Bertizzolo (02:12:01), winners of gold, silver and bronze, respectively.
The final stage of the event was held over a route of 89.7 kilometers, with the finish at a summit in Bologna, San Luca, in a first category professional race of the International Cycling Union, where Sierra earned 100.00 points for the world rankings, according to Jit.
Sierra is establishing herself as the best-performing road cyclist in Latin America, after also achieving an excellent sixth place at the World Road Cycling Championship, held in Wollongong, Australia.
