The fourth edition of the International Film and Environmental Festival of the Caribbean, Isla Verde, has already been announced to take place from April 5-11, 2026 on the Isle of Youth. The event maintains its profile as a meeting space between audiovisual creation, environmental awareness, and community exchange.
The event was founded by Cuban actor and director Jorge Perugorría and has the participation of several cultural entities and projects linked to environmental work. According to information distributed by IPS Cuba and the organizers, the festival will include screenings, workshops, conferences, concerts, and other parallel activities.
The call for entries contemplates works of fiction, documentary, and animation, as well as a section aimed at projects in the post-production stage. The organizers emphasize that the festival seeks to promote audiovisual perspectives on environmental conservation, sustainability, and the relationship between Caribbean communities and nature.
Since its first editions, Isla Verde has defended a work approach that combines cultural programming with local impact initiatives, including reforestation actions and training spaces. The new edition again positions the Isle of Youth as the venue for a gathering that articulates film, environmental education, and creative cooperation.
