In the top of the second inning, Pagés poked an opposite-field single that scored Shohei Ohtani and gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead. It was the last run of the night: starter Jacob Misiorowski and Milwaukee’s bullpen, capped by Trevor Megill, held the two-time defending champions scoreless the rest of the way. Brice Turang tied the game with a home run off Tarik Skubal, and Luis Lara drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth.
The 25-year-old Havana native has three RBIs in five postseason games this October and is hitting .278. He entered the series after the two-run single that eliminated the Braves in the Division Series. Game 2 was set for Monday in Milwaukee, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto facing Logan Henderson.
