Ten rounds waiting for the surprise that Mexican Brian Zamarripa supposedly had prepared for Cuban Andy Cruz and it never came. The Cuban easily defeated the native of Baja California this Saturday by unanimous decision.
Andy maintains his undefeated record at 135 pounds as a professional, now presenting a record of three wins, no losses and one knockout. Tonight in Orlando there was only one boxer in the ring, the native of Alacranes, Matanzas, had no setbacks in running over Zamarripa.
Despite not being able to achieve the KO, it was a comfortable victory for Andy, who in our opinion needs to enhance his punching power more for this professional boxing, because when he steps into more demanding fights he is going to need it.
All three judges scored 100-90, all rounds for Andy. His rival, who had as his credentials before this fight a good record of 16 fights, 14 victories and 5 KOs, was able to do very little in the ring tonight really.
Brayan Zamarripa resisted on the basis of heart and courage during the 10 rounds, but could not against the Cuban technician. He achieved his third victory, this time by unanimous decision (100-90) against another Mexican. Finally, he successfully defended the titles of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) at lightweight and the Continental Latin-American of the World Boxing Association (WBA).
