Alfredito Rodríguez, the popular interpreter of "Sagitario," celebrated on social media his 53 years of artistic life in the preference of various generations of Cubans both inside and outside the island.
"Just as I feel it, I say it. This December, I celebrated 53 years of struggling in art, and for my own good, they have been decades, supported by the shoulders of those who have wanted to sustain me," the musician expressed on Facebook.
"Different stages, but I still dream of the footlights; that boy, very soon valued that applause is repaid with sweat, that others are part of one, and that gratitude is a superior verb," he continued saying.
"Each year, each minute, and each second, have meant celebration and glory, and you have been accomplices and faithful companions. The time I have left to live will not be enough for me to bless you. I love you very much, very much, very much," concluded Rodríguez, with his usual farewell phrase on Cuban television.
Alfredito was born on November 29, 1951 in Havana and became one of the most persevering singers in Cuba. He started in 1969, after attempting to study lyrical singing where he was not accepted, but his will proof against everything allowed him to overcome and reach his goal.
He was a special guest at the Sopot Festival in Poland and the Intertalent Festival in Czechoslovakia. He was the first Cuban singer to perform in the leading German musical Ein Kessel Buntes.
Alongside his musical career, especially with ballads, he hosted television programs, where he made very good use of retro wave songs and somewhat forgotten artists. As a host and producer, Alfredito created shows in Cuba such as: Your Night with Alfredo, In Family, Special Saturday, The Difference, among others.
Cuban singer Alfredo Rodríguez established himself since October 2012 in Miami, and has known how to make up for any lack of vocal talent with effort and passion.
