In a publication made on Facebook, Willie Chirino mentioned that soon, on March 15, the song Yo soy cubano will premiere on social networks, presented that day in remembrance of "LA PROTESTA DE BARAGUÁ on March 15, 1878".

"That is why Alexis Valdés chose this date as the launch of the song YO SOY CUBANO that he wrote and we recorded together last January. We will be posting small fragments of the video daily until the 15th. Hopefully you'll like it!", Chirino wrote.

For his part, Alexis Valdés, who also works as a presenter, comedian and poet, commented that in the video that accompanies the song there are "images of Cubans who are the same in Europe, as in Asia, as in Africa, as in North America or South America. That is, we want many of you to appear in this video, who are the reason for this song".

A few weeks ago, Valdés invited his followers to send videos to include in the song.

"Even though you are in that city so far from Cuba, we want the video to show that you do not lose your customs and your flavor. You can use the music that I leave here for the video. You can use a flag or any symbolic costume", the humorist expressed.

Both Valdés and Chirino recently participated in a presentation before members of the European Parliament to debate the current situation in Cuba, a topic that continues to concern them despite having lived outside the Island for several decades.
