Cuban opposite hitter Alejandro Rodríguez Fuentes was crowned champion of the 2025-2026 Chinese Volleyball Super League season and named MVP of the Final, after his team, Tianjin Food Group, defeated Hebei Baoding Woli 2-1 in the championship series.

Rodríguez Fuentes, 24, a native of Mayabeque province, scored 27 points in the decisive match — 24 successful attacks, one block, and two aces — and averaged 21 points per game throughout the Final. He also finished second in overall points and serves during the regular season, and was named Best Player of the Season in China.

Tianjin had a historic campaign: they eliminated defending champion Shanghai in the semifinals and claimed their first-ever national title, ending the dominance of traditional powerhouses. Fellow Cubans Félix Rodríguez and coach Alejandro González also play key roles in the team. Rodríguez Fuentes' form in China marks him as a world-class opposite with significant potential for Cuba's national team in the upcoming Nations League.
