Albums by Chucho Valdés and Síntesis Awarded at the 2022 Latin Grammys

This Thursday, the albums by Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés and the Afro-Cuban rock group Síntesis received the 2022 Latin Grammy awards in their categories.



Chucho Valdés, long established among the best in the world, a previous winner of Latin Grammy and Grammy awards, was honored along with Eliane Elias and Chick Corea in the best Latin jazz/jazz album category for Mirror Mirror.



 



Síntesis, one of the most recognized and innovative Cuban groups, with a sustained trajectory over the past decades, triumphed in the best folk album category for Ancestros sinfónico, released on May 27 of this year.



Along with Carlos Alfonso and Ele Valdés, their children Eme and X Alfonso took the stage to receive the award.



Ancestros sinfónico is the second album produced by the FAC Music label.



The Latin Grammy Awards ceremony is being held at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.



Another honoree of the night was Argentine rock star Fito Páez. The Rosario native received the Latin Grammy in the best pop/rock album category for Los años salvajes.
