The prestigious Cuban musician Eliades Ochoa and his sextet Patria will perform today on the main stage at Heinepark at the opening of the international Rudolstadt music festival, which will run until July 9 in Germany.
In this edition, Los Van Van, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, and Tony Ávila and his group, Cimafunk, Yarima Blanco, Telmary & HabanaSana, and Gema IV will also perform, according to the list announced by the organizers.
According to the official page of this festival of roots, folk, and world music, Cuba is the featured country this year with the participation of 10 groups, a symposium, and a photographic exhibition.
For its part, the Cuban Institute of Music announced on its Facebook profile that this Friday, July 7, there will be lectures on Cuban music by the president of Cubadisco and director of the Grupo Moncada, Jorge Gómez, and the vice president of Cubadisco, musicologist, producer, and Latin Grammy Award winner, Cary Diez.
Visitors to the 2023 Rudolstadt Festival can expect a total of 120 concerts, street music, and dance in a musical event noted as one of the most prestigious in Europe.
