Cuban actress Nancy González thanked on Wednesday the messages of support from her audience after undergoing surgery from which she is recovering.
González, who "for a time believed she was dealing with cervical crises and underwent treatments and physical therapy in an effort to relieve the pain," had to have surgery.
"Hello, how good it feels to be able to thank all the expressions of love and respect that I have received in recent days. I want to thank first and foremost my husband Gerardo because he knew how to guide me to the right place and at the right time to treat my illness, to my daughters, my cousins, my family who came together to care for me with devotion," she said.
The actress was suffering "discomfort and, at this point, decided to go to the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN). There, she received medical attention from Dr. Wilson, a distinguished neurologist. After an exhaustive series of medical exams, it was discovered that Nancy had a tumor near the second cervical vertebra."
After the news became public, the actress received a lot of affection, which she appreciated.

"To my friends who, far or near, gave me their support in many ways. To my coworkers from Ruta and from the novel Viceversa, who day after day followed my treatment, giving me encouragement, to so many people who took time to send me their messages of support. I thank all of you very much," she added.
"I want to thank in a very special way all the workers of the INN, doctors, nurses, technicians and support staff because from each one I received the best care and I was a witness to their dedication to work and their zeal to give the best of themselves," she indicated.
"Now I only have to follow the instructions of my doctors, to fully recover and return to work, to life. See you soon, on Ruta or on the street, but always, on the path to well-being," she concluded.
