Laura Ramos is a Cuban actress who made an impact with her participation in the successful Spanish series "Entrevías", which is already making history on Netflix.
Last week, this non-English language series was the most watched on the platform and ranked in the top 10 on Netflix in 71 countries, including Spain, the United States, France, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.
It is worth noting that the production premiered on the Spanish channel Telecinco, where it did not have much success, however, since it was released on streaming it became an international phenomenon, in its two seasons.
This thriller tells the "story of Tirso Abantos, a principled man and former military officer who sets aside his quiet life at the hardware store in his neighborhood to help his granddaughter, who has gotten into trouble with some criminals".
In this sense, the participation of Cuban actress Laura Ramos was included with the interpretation of the character named Gladys, the mother of Nelson (Felipe Londoño), who is the boyfriend of Irene (Nona Sobo), the granddaughter of Tirso (José Coronado).
In the same series, Ramos acts as a Cuban woman who came to Spain, met a Colombian man and after this relationship became a single mother. "Gladys" is a friendly, talkative woman with great strength to get her son ahead.
The Cuban actress assured in an interview on MegaTV that she was in Mexico at the time she found out about the casting for the series and after presenting herself, she got the role, and pointed out that the entire experience has been "wonderful" and emphasized that for her it has been a "stroke of luck" to work alongside Coronado.
She thanked the opportunities that have been presented to her playing Gladys: "some characters are good, but they are small. Entrevías has deepened into a complexity and a number of contradictions and has enriched its discourse. It has moved away from what on other occasions we have seen as a stereotype. It has brought it closer to a Spanish audience that I think is still in need of finding that reality".
