# Yandy Díaz gets two of the Rays' three hits as the Brewers win 10-1 and move one win from the title

Cuban designated hitter Yandy Díaz was nearly all the Tampa Bay Rays had on Monday, October 26, as the Milwaukee Brewers won Game 3 of the World Series 10-1 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Díaz opened the bottom of the first with a line-drive single and, in the ninth, lined a full-count double off Brandon Woodruff that brought home Cedric Mullins for Tampa Bay's lone run. Those were two of the Rays' three hits all night.

Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser shut Tampa Bay down for six scoreless, one-hit innings. After Díaz's single he retired 14 straight hitters before fellow Cuban Víctor Mesa Jr. drew a walk to lead off the sixth, only to be erased on a double play. Earlier, in the second inning, a misplay by Mesa Jr. in right field helped William Contreras' RBI single.

The game turned in the fifth, when Milwaukee scored eight runs, all with two outs, something no team had ever done in a World Series inning, according to MLB.com. "He was throwing pitches that we couldn't hit. He was executing really well. So credit to him," Díaz said of Gasser through interpreter Kevin Vera.

The Brewers lead the best-of-seven series 3-0 and can clinch their first championship in Game 4 on Tuesday, again in St. Petersburg. The only team to come back from 0-3 in a best-of-seven postseason series is the 2004 Boston Red Sox, in the ALCS.
