# Viciedo and Raidel key in Chunichi victory

**Date:** 10/07/2020

On Wednesday's action in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), the Chunichi Dragons defeated the Tokyo Yakult Swallows 4-1 with the help of their Cuban protagonists.

On the offensive side, Dayán Viciedo drove in a key run, while Raidel Martínez locked down the game from the mound.

Viciedo went 4-1, with a single that drove in the first run of the game (he now has 69), in the third inning. He also struck out once and left his offensive line at .264/.324/.443. With 91 hits in 2020, only nine separate him from 100 in the current regular season.

As for Martínez, he gave no great opportunities and recorded his 17th save of the campaign, throwing 1.0 perfect inning, in which he struck out all three opponents he faced. Thus he lowered his ERA to 1.25 and his opponent average to .188.

The young right-hander reached 35 appearances in 2020. In 35.0 innings of work, he has 40 strikeouts and only 10 walks, with 24 hits allowed and five earned runs permitted.

The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks could not take the victory on Wednesday and stumbled 4-3 against the Saitama Seibu Lions despite the good performance of Yurisbel Gracial. The designated hitter hit a pair of hits in five official plate appearances, including his seventh double of the campaign.

Gracial drove in one of Fukuoka's three runs (to reach 21) and reached 46 hits in the Japanese league season. Thanks to this performance, he raised his averages to .275/.326/.461.

Unfortunately, the loss went to his compatriot Liván Moinelo (leaving his record at 1-2). In 1.0 inning of work, he allowed two hits and one earned run, which raised his ERA to 1.30.

Finally, Leonys Martín went 3-1, with a single and a run scored in the Chiba Lotte Marines' 4-1 victory over the Orix Buffaloes. In addition to the above, he was hit by a pitch and committed his fifth defensive error (.244/.396/.506).

Moving to the action of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), José Miguel Fernández responded with two singles in five official at-bats with the bat in the Doosan Bears' 4-5 loss to the SK Wyverns. It is the first time Fernández has had more than one hit since September 27. His averages closed the day at .342/.403/.498 and he ranks fifth in the battle for the batting lead, 16 points behind the leader (.358).
