# Silvito El Libre, son of Silvio Rodríguez, launches new musical theme "Pesadilla"

**Date:** 07/22/2021

Cuban rapper Silvito El Libre premiered his new song "Pesadilla" on YouTube this Tuesday. "I come from a land of misery and blackouts, beaches with palm trees and also with situations, where leaders live in mansions and the people don't even have…", goes the chorus of the forceful rap, which captures the reality of the Cuban people.

"You have to do what they want, if you don't agree then you're a worm" (…) "You're going to hear the truth in my voice, 60 years of deception, that have hurt many families, that a foreigner is seen as strange, that there's no food or toilet paper", mentions Silvito.

"How much more do we have to endure, money in Cuba is controlled by the system, nobody wants to talk about or touch the subject because the whole people knows that fire burns", is another of the strong phrases that make up the lyrics of this song. "They are the gang that is controlling the largest of the Antilles, those who get in the middle they riddle with bullets, they won't loosen up or give up the chair, they impose a lot of fear, many summons, many presidents, few elections, many murderers without justifications and many innocent people in cardboard houses".

Silvito El Libre is known for his protest lyrics, which he frequently shares with fellow successful Cuban rapper Aldo el Aldeano. In 2019 they composed "Diazka", another famous song openly against the government of Miguel Díaz-Canel.

So far, the new song by Silvio Rodríguez's son has accumulated more than 30 thousand views on his YouTube channel and hundreds of comments from his loyal followers. Silvito has been considered by his fans as a true pride of Cuban rap. "This is real music", they also mentioned after this musical premiere.
