**Date:** 09/14/2026

Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez performed the first of two concerts at Bilbao's Palacio Euskalduna on Saturday, September 12, 2026, before more than 2,000 spectators as part of a tour taking him through eight Spanish cities in September and October.

According to El Correo, the nearly two-hour set opened with "Historia de las sillas" and mixed signature anthems with newer material. He was joined onstage by his partner, flutist and clarinetist Niurka González, their daughter Malva Rodríguez on vocals and keyboards, and his regular band, with bertsolari Jon Maia as the opening act.

The tour began September 1 at Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu to sold-out houses, according to Prensa Latina and the artist's official site, Zurrón del Aprendiz. After Bilbao on September 12 and 13, dates continue in Valencia, A Coruña, Seville and Murcia before a closing show October 4 at Madrid's Movistar Arena.

Rodríguez, Cuba's National Music Prize winner and a central figure of Nueva Trova, turns 80 in November and remains highly active on stage. Bilbao audiences answered with ovations and chants throughout the night, one of the most anticipated stops of his return to Spanish venues.
