# Silvio Rodríguez wraps up his Spain tour with a sold-out night at Madrid's Movistar Arena

**Date:** 10/06/2026

Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez brought his Spain tour to a close on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a sold-out show at Madrid's Movistar Arena, according to reviews published by RTVE and La Razón. The Madrid date was the eighth and final stop of a run that began September 1 in Barcelona and continued through Zaragoza, Bilbao, Valencia, A Coruña, Seville and Murcia.

Rodríguez walked on stage alone, wearing his trademark "Aprendiz" cap, and opened with "Historia de las sillas" before quoting José Martí to introduce "Ala de colibrí" with the full band. His musicians included flutist and clarinetist Niurka González, his daughter Malva Rodríguez on backing vocals and keyboards, pianist Jorge Aragón, guitarist Rachid López, tres player Maykel Elizarde and drummer Oliver Valdés. He previewed new material, including "Virgen de occidente," and sang "Nuestro después" as a duet with Malva, a song he said he wrote on the day one of his grandsons emigrated. He also dedicated "Más porvenir" to the late Uruguayan president Pepe Mujica.

After more than two hours and several encores, a standing crowd sang along to "Ojalá," and he ended the night with "Óleo de una mujer con sombrero," a song that had not appeared in the tour's earlier set lists. Born in San Antonio de los Baños, Rodríguez turns 80 in late November.
