# Four Popular Figures of Cuban Baseball Meet in Mexico

**Date:** 10/30/2022

Four well-known and in some cases even star figures of Cuban baseball recently reunited in Mexico.

In a post issued by the charismatic former Pinar del Río player Yobal Dueñas, you can see the moment when the already retired Joan Carlos Pedroso, Michel Abreu, and Michel Enríquez coincided in Aztec territory. And with them the still active Yasmani Tomás.

All of them are working as official part of the Mexican Pacific League in different roles. "El Tanque" was the last one to arrive to join the roster of the Cañeros de los Mochis.

By the way, the former star player for Industriales de La Habana had a tremendous doubleheader last Tuesday by connecting a home run and five hits in eight official at-bats.

Working with this club as a hitting coach is the Matanzas native Abreu, one of the few Cuban National Series players who has managed to establish himself in the Minor Leagues of the United States as a coach (Toronto Blue Jays).

In the case of Pedroso, one of the greatest home run hitters in Cuban baseball history, he is equally part of the technical staff of the greens. In his case he serves as a batting assistant.

And regarding another very popular figure among Cuban fans, the Pinar native Michel Enríquez, he is the only one of the quartet who is not part of the Cañeros. Michel is within the ARCO League as a hitting coach for the Algodoneros de Guasave.
