# Cuban baseball players Moinelo and Raydel resume their performance in Japan

**Date:** 06/20/2020

The two Cuban pitchers, Moinelo and Raidel, participated yesterday in the first date of the 2020 Japanese Professional Baseball League, started without spectators in the stands and with other exceptional measures against COVID-19.

Closers Liván Moinelo and Raidel Martínez fulfilled their roles in the victories of Softbank Hawks and Chunichi Dragons, respectively.

The left-handed pitcher from Pinar allowed a home run in the inning in which he pitched, but they did not score runs against him and he did his job: help his team to victory 2-1 over Lotte Marines, in an extended challenge to 10 innings in the city of Fukuoka.

The right-hander, also from Vuelta Abajo, gave up a hit in the game that Dragons won 9-7 against Yakult Swallows in Tokyo, also in extra innings set to a maximum of 10 chapters.

On the date, Hiroshima Carp beat DeNA Stars 5-1 in Yokohama; Yomiuri Giants 3-2 over Hanshin Tigers in the capital; Rakuten Eagles 9-1 over Orix Buffaloes in Osaka; and Seibu Lions 3-0 over Nippon Ham Fighters in Tokorozawa.

On the date, Alfredo Despaigne and Yurisbel Gracial could not play, as they remain in Cuba awaiting a travel option to the Asian nation.
