# Osleys Iglesias retains his super middleweight titles with a seventh-round stoppage of Oliver Zaren

**Date:** 10/09/2026

Cuban boxer Osleys Iglesias held on to his IBF and IBO super middleweight belts on Thursday, October 8, 2026, stopping Denmark's Oliver Zaren in the seventh round at the Capitole de Québec in Quebec City, Canada. The end came at 1:31 of the round, when the challenger's corner threw in the towel, according to BoxingNews24, Boxing 247 and FightMag.

The 28-year-old southpaw from Matanzas, known as "El Tornado," gradually wore down his bigger opponent. The fight turned in the sixth round, when Iglesias put Zaren on the canvas twice and opened a cut over his left eye. Zaren came out for the seventh, but his trainer, former super middleweight world champion Mikkel Kessler, stopped it to spare his fighter further punishment.

It was the first successful defense of the IBF title Iglesias won in April by knocking out Russia's Pavel Silyagin, and the sixth defense of his IBO belt. The win keeps the Cuban unbeaten at 16-0 with 15 stoppages. Zaren, 26, who was ranked No. 5 by the IBF, suffered the first loss of his career and is now 19-1-1.

The scheduled 12-round bout headlined an Eye of the Tiger Management card streamed on DAZN.
