With the aim of promoting bonds of friendship and solidarity between Cuba and Morocco, an official presentation will soon be made to the "Villa Harris" Museum, as a donation to the city of Tangier, of an artwork created by the renowned Cuban painter Luis Alberto Ruiz Saavedra.

The "Bride of Tangier," according to its author, is an "artwork that definitely pays humble and modest homage to its inhabitants and to its city that I have dreamed of on more than one night."

The painting displays an emblematic site of the city known as "Bab al-Bahr, the Gate of the Sea" with a Moroccan woman seated in a typical chair, dressed in a caftan and holding a lute in her hands, an instrument very common in our two cultures.

The similarities between Tangier and Havana and their residents, as well as the beauty of Tangier's architecture, are a source of surprise and nostalgia for many Cubans who visit the famous Moroccan city.

The initiative, promoted by the Associations of Friendship and Solidarity between Morocco and Latin America, and of Friendship and Solidarity of Cubans and Moroccans of France, is a sign of the friendship between the two peoples and seeks to promote and deepen cultural relations between Cuba and Morocco.
