# Manolito Simonet and his Trabuco in the USA, passion for Cuban music

**Date:** 07/05/2023

The presence of the popular orchestra Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco in the United States is today for Daniel Donayre the continuation of his passion for Cuban music, which he "respects very much," he said.

General producer of the orchestra's current tour through different U.S. cities on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its founding, Donayre expressed his joy at the way the public receives them at each presentation.

"Manolito celebrating 30 years of artistic career throughout the United States I believe is a blessing," he noted about this tour that "started nicely."

With almost 10 years in the work of promoting Caribbean music in U.S. territory, Donayre deserves credit for, among his most recent efforts, the tour of the orchestra Pupi y Los que Son Son, in 2022.

Regarding Manolito's presentation in New York, he emphasized that they will play in one of the most legendary venues, where stars have performed, and anticipated that it will be at full capacity.

In New York Cuban music is beloved and that "makes me think that on the day of the concert on Friday a lot of people will come, as happened to us in Miami," he noted.

Many people gathered at the entrance where the orchestra performed there in Miami, "there were many Cubans who really want their music despite everything," he emphasized.

Manolito and his Trabuco barely have time to rest, they will offer 12 concerts, of which three have already been performed.

Ahead of them are commitments in Los Angeles and San Francisco (California) and in Seattle (Washington); in addition to those scheduled in New York and in Atlanta (Georgia).

La boda de Belén, Y Todavía No, Te Dejo Libre, Saliditas contigo, El Águila, Locos por mi Habana and Tú me dijiste mentiras, are some of the greatest hits of the group that, among others, are part of the repertoire of this tour.

A composer, arranger and self-taught pianist, Manolito Simonet expressed at some point that he organized his Trabuco with all the musical heritage and blessed be it because his orchestra is, without a doubt, one of the most representative of Cuban popular music.
