# Karel Guzmán proclaims himself champion with his club in the National Basketball League of Romania

The Cuban basketball player Karel Guzmán reached the top of the podium of the National Basketball League of Romania with his club U Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca, after eliminating Oradea in the final series in the best of five games.

The athlete from the capital achieved four points, two rebounds and a pair of assists in Sunday's victory 86-67. With this victory they were able to maintain their title and thus aspire to a spot in the next edition of the European Basketball Champions League.

Guzmán played 19 minutes on the court and was of valuable contribution in the game that defined the playoff. In the 32 games before reaching the final, the Havana native accumulated 333 points and an average per game of 10.4.

The team led by coach Vusko Dujosevich, in the five matches for the championship was only able to score 28 points.

With a tie of two games per team they reached the decisive challenge: 73-62 and 103-80 first for Dujosevich's team; and 71-75 and 60-64, tied by Oradea.

The Cuban will have to join the national team that will seek one of the two spots in the continental pre-qualifier in El Salvador, in July next, in order to be included among the 16 countries of the Americup 2022, in November of this year.
