# Guido López Gavilán Premieres Mojito with Saoco

Today's premiere in this capital of the work "Mojito con saoco", by renowned Cuban composer Guido López Gavilán, will be the main attraction of the concert by the Cuban-American Youth Orchestra on the occasion of Cubadisco 2019.

The premiere of the piece by Guido López Gavilán will be conducted by local maestros César Eduardo Ramos and Daiana García, and is part of a broader concert program that includes Symphony No. 8, by Antonin Dvorák; Billy the Kid, by Aaron Copland; and En conga pa´ La Habana, by Jorge Amado Molina.

The titular director of the orchestral ensemble, James Ross, explained to Prensa Latina that the selection of the pieces offers a balance of music by composers from different periods, tendencies and styles, especially by Cuban and American authors.

The presentation of the Cuban-American Youth Orchestra, for the first time on the island, will be at 19:00 local time, in the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater of Cuba.

The group of musicians arrived in the largest of the Antilles invited by the organizing committee of Cubadisco 2019, and the trip was made possible thanks to the American company Classical Movements, and the National Concert Music Center of the Cuban Institute of Music.
