# Graffiti Artist Jel Martínez Intervenes a Facade of the Miami Graffiti Museum with the Phrase "Patria y Vida"

The motto embraced by the Cuban opposition "Patria y Vida" has occupied since this Tuesday a complete facade of the Graffiti Museum in Miami (USA), after urban artist Jel Martínez completed the mural with spray paint.



Located in the heart of the Wynwood Art District, the busiest area of Miami, the mural displays the words "Patria y Vida" title of a song by a group of Cuban musicians from inside and outside the island, a theme that recently went viral.



The original work by graffiti artist Martínez, also Cuban-American, was created last Tuesday with spray paint on an exterior wall of approximately 30 feet (9.14 meters) long by 20 feet (6 meters) high. Its large "Patria y Vida" lettering is painted in black on a red background.



Premiered on February 16, the song "Patria y vida" brings together the voices of popular Cuban singers Yotuel Romero, Descemer Bueno, El Osorbo and El Funky, and the duo Gente de Zona.



From the title, antithesis of the motto "Patria o muerte" to the last word, the song is openly opposed to the Cuban Government and its policies. The video accompanying the song has already reached more than 3.3 million views on YouTube, where it was launched.
