# Francisca López Civeira Received the Honor Prize Memory of Ours

The Honor Prize of the Congress of Thought and Prize for Young Researchers Memory of Ours was presented this Thursday to Doctor in Sciences Francisca López Civeira for her contributions to the historical and cultural memory of the Cuban nation.

The presentation ceremony was presided over by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguín; Arelis Marrero Guerrero, member of the Provincial Bureau of the PCC; Rachel García Heredia, provincial director of Culture and Yasel Toledo Garnache, national vice president of the AHS.

"I am happy and moved, this recognition commits me to continue collaborating, supporting and defending the historical memory of Cuba," commented historian López Civeira about the recognition.

Following the ceremony, the emeritus professor of the University of Havana delivered the lecture "José Martí and the Concept of Revolution" as part of the scientific program of the Congress of Thought Memory of Ours, of which she is a jury member. In this space, moments of the fervent life of the Apostle and his unavoidable relationship with the concept of revolution were commemorated.

Francisca López Civeira has received recognitions such as the National Prize for History (2008), the National Prize in Social Sciences (2022) and the Félix Varela Prize, the Distinction for National Culture, the Alejo Carpentier Medal and the Frank País Order of first and second degrees. In 2022, the Hermanos Saíz Association awarded her the Master of Youth Prize.

Civeira is the author of eight books and co-author of 12. Among her most significant works are José Martí (1853-1895) and Human Dignity (Mexico, 1995).
