# Renowned Cuban actor Rubén Breña passed away

Renowned Cuban actor Rubén Breña, with a distinguished career in radio, television, film and theater, passed away today in Havana, confirmed to Cubadebate authorities from the Ministry of Culture.



Breña was born in Pinar del Río on September 21, 1953 and from an early age showed aptitude and inclination toward different artistic expressions. He graduated from the National School of Theater Direction of the Ministry of Culture in 1970 and was part of the theater groups Zafarrancho and Trotamundos.



Among his most remembered works are The Twins by Carlos Goldoni, Sunrises Are Peaceful Here and The Cross-Eyed. On television he achieved great popularity for his performances in multiple telenovelas, teleplays, teletheater productions and stories, standing out especially in Tierra brava, Stories of Fire, When Water Returns to the Earth and Blue is Blue.



In addition to acting, Breña practiced painting empirically and was a fan of music and poetry.



Cuban culture laments the loss of this great artist who managed to earn the affection and respect of the public with his talent and his humility.
