# Félix Riaño Valle, CUJAE professor, passes away

With deep regret we inform the university community of the passing on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 2nd, of Professor Emeritus Félix Riaño Valle, an illustrious figure of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Hydraulic Engineering program.
 


Professor Riaño dedicated more than 50 years of his life to CUJAE, where he served as Academic Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Director of the Center for Hydraulic Research (CIH) and Advisor to the Academic Vice Rectory. He was an exceptional educator, mentor to numerous generations of engineers and author of a vast scientific body of work with indexed publications.
 


As Professor William Cobelo expressed: "The Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Hydraulic Engineering program, and Cuba lose a great professor, who fought almost until the end of his life in the trenches of teaching."
