**Date:** 07/23/2020

Cuban Erick Hernández added this Sunday a new world record for ball control in football to inscribe it in the Guinness Book of Records and surpassed his previous mark, by maintaining touches of the sphere only with his head for more than an hour.

His previous record was 1:02:05 hours, which he set on August 17 last in a space of a hotel in the beach resort of Varadero, the main sun and beach tourist destination in Cuba, located about 140 kilometers east of Havana.

This time, Hernández's test was broadcast live by a state television channel from the roof of his house, where he was training due to the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hernández declared that this new record he dedicated to the medical personnel who provide services, both on the island and abroad to combat the epidemiological emergency of COVID-19.

He also announced that he plans to establish another record before the end of this year, but with the presence of spectators, which would consist of hitting the ball the greatest number of times with his thighs while sustaining 1.5 kilograms of weight tied to his ankles.

The Cuban record holder has achieved about 50 world records in different modalities, including that of covering 100 meters running and dominating the ball in 16 seconds.
