# Eliades Ochoa takes his 80th-birthday "¡Como Nunca!" tour to Pamplona

**Date:** 10/30/2026

Eliades Ochoa, one of the defining voices of Cuban son and an original member of the Buena Vista Social Club, performs this Saturday, October 31, at 8 p.m. in the main hall of the Baluarte auditorium in Pamplona, Spain. The show is part of his "¡Como Nunca! World Tour," an international run celebrating his 80th year that, according to the venue, also includes stops in other cities across Europe, the United States and Mexico.

The concert runs about 90 minutes without an intermission, with tickets priced from 40 to 50 euros at the box office, the venue said. Ahead of the date, Ochoa spoke with Spain's Radio Nacional on RTVE's Navarra Informativos, which introduced him as one of the most recognizable voices and guitars in Cuban music.

Born in 1946 in Santiago de Cuba province, Ochoa has spent more than five decades championing son, guajira, guaracha and bolero, rarely seen without his black hat and guitar. The Buena Vista Social Club project of the late 1990s made him a global name: he earned Grammy nominations in that period, and Wim Wenders' documentary about the group was nominated for an Oscar.

He has kept touring the world with Cuba's traditional repertoire ever since, and the Pamplona show is one of the Spanish stops on the tour marking his eighth decade.
