**Date:** 08/03/2021

Young Cuban pianists Daniela Rivero and Eladio Hernández won first place in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition 2021 -in the chamber music category, group C for ages 18 and over-, in the most recent edition held digitally in the city of New York, United States.

The Cuban duo's participation consisted of two videos in which they performed La Malagueña, by renowned Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona and the Sonata for piano four hands, by French composer Francis Poulenc. These pieces were sent to the city of New York for evaluation by a prestigious international jury that reviewed the work of several artists from Poland, China, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, Hong Kong, Italy, Taiwan, Malaysia, among other nations.

"Filled with emotion and joy we share this wonderful news. It is an award that comes to us as a result of the effort of many people, to whom we are grateful today and always", shared on her personal Facebook profile the emerging Cuban pianist, Daniela Rivero.

This achievement is the result of Cuba's system of artistic education and the solid Piano Department that the largest archipelago of the Antilles has, prestigious for professors who gave their best advice to this duo such as teachers Mayté Aboy González, Liana Fernández, Ernesto Oliva Figueredo and Ulises Hernández.

According to the artists, this distinction represents a great boost for their career, motivating them to continue studying the instrument more each day and to continue defending the best expressions of Cuban and universal music.

In recognition of this talent, the young performers will present themselves at the Award Winners Concert of this edition of the competition, to be held in March and July of 2022, at the Weil Recital Hall of the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York.

The Golden Classical Music Awards is a music competition open to the world and all ages, in the specialties of strings, piano, wind and voice. Its objective is to "discover artists of outstanding personality and offer awards that can help launch international careers".
