# Descemer Bueno and «Bailando» receive multi-platinum record

**Date:** 11/28/2019

A few hours ago, Descemer Bueno announced through his Facebook page that he has just been recognized with a multiplatinum record for his song "Bailando," in which he collaborates with Enrique Iglesias and Gente de Zona.

The artist published a video in which you can see his children presenting him with the recognition, which constitutes one of the most important certifications awarded by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

"Thank you to my kids for this surprise. The multiplatinum record for 'Bailando' has finally arrived and here I share it with my followers around the world and with all Cubans who are grateful that a simple son of a single mother has carried the name of a country where we musicians were losing hope of being recognized internationally someday.
Thank you God. Thank you Enrique Iglesias, Alexander and Randy. Thank you Maikelito, we never imagined it.

"Bailando" premiered on April 11, 2014, and managed to become one of the ten most listened to songs that year, with one million sales in the United States and eight million worldwide, which is why it was certified with a platinum record.

Currently, the music video—directed by Alejandro Pérez—has two billion 787 million views, one of the highest figures obtained by a Cuban audiovisual work.

Last June, Descemer received another important recognition from the RIAA by being awarded gold and platinum records for his song "Nos fuimos lejos," in which he also collaborates with Enrique Iglesias.
