# Daisy Ballmajó celebrated her 52nd birthday as a Telemundo announcer

**Date:** 02/18/2021

Cuban journalist Daisy Ballmajó, one of the presenters of the Spanish-language television network Telemundo, turned 52 years old on February 16th, a date she celebrated with her loved ones in the city of Miami (Florida) where she has been living for several years alongside Cuban sports journalist Bobby Salamanca Jr.

The moderator wanted to share the great joy she feels for her new year around the sun and did so by sharing with all her admirers on social media a post in which she has shown herself to be more than grateful to life, her friends and her family.

Alongside a photograph in which she can be seen with her characteristic smile, Daisy Ballmajó wrote on her Instagram profile: "I celebrate my birthday giving thanks to life, to my family, to my friends and all the people who, even without knowing us personally, shower me with affection and blessings".

Following the post, the journalist quickly received hundreds of messages full of congratulations and good wishes from her followers and colleagues in the profession.

"A hug Daisy. Congratulations", "Many happy returns beautiful", "Happy birthday Daisy. Many blessings on your birthday", "Keep smiling. Happy birthday", "Happy Birthday", "All the good in the world for you because you deserve that and more", "We love you so much precious, happy birthday" or "May you have many more birthdays as beautiful and natural as this", are some of the comments that stand out on her account.

A few months ago Daisy Ballmajó worried her followers after sharing on her social media the news that she had undergone surgery with the goal of preventing something worse.

"Friends, thank you to all those who have asked about me. I am recovering from a necessary surgical procedure for my health. On this journey it is not the first operation although it is the one that requires the most recovery time. But it's going well", she wrote on her Facebook profile.

Fortunately, the journalist's recovery was prompt and satisfactory and in a short time she was able to return to the Telemundo television studio to continue informing viewers of the latest national and international news on the channel 51 newscast.

Daisy, who is originally from Guantánamo, studied journalism at the University of Havana and began working at Canal Habana, while hosting a music program called A capella. She was also a presenter of the morning magazine Buenos Días and, for a short time, the Sunday newscast. She then left Cuba for the Dominican Republic, a country that welcomed her warmly. There she worked alongside presenter and comedian Freddy Beras-Goico, now deceased. In Miami, she started at América Tevé, then moved to Mega TV and later to Telemundo 51.
