# Cuban López hopes to play next season with the renowned Sada Cruzeiro

The attacker Miguel Ángel López, one of eight Cubans signed to the Argentine Volleyball League, revealed that he hopes to play next season in Brazil with the renowned Sada Cruzeiro, one of the best clubs in the world.

López, 23 years old and one of the stars of UPCN San Juan in the Argentine League, is currently stranded in Argentina due to the pandemic affecting the world because of the new coronavirus.

While preparing to travel from Argentina to Cuba, he became stranded in the South American country and his club placed him in an apartment in Buenos Aires, where he is complying with mandatory isolation, the player emphasized in an interview with the digital newspaper Jit (www.jit.cu) through social media.

"I feel ready now to face any league. I'm planning to play in Brazil. We are in conversations with Sada Cruzeiro Club, one of the five best in the world. This possible advancement to the Brazilian Super League will be very important," López considered, barely 1.90 m tall, but possessing impressive jumping power.

In his third season in the Argentine League, López, also recognized for his attack, service and explosivity, finished third among scorers and fifth in service, and shone in an international match against Sada Cruzeiro.

When asked how he is spending quarantine, he explained that he has space to train. "The team's physical trainer gave me a routine of exercises and I can do several more things with what I have, plus the chairs, the table and other furniture in the house."

"The rest of the time I keep myself entertained watching series and playing on the computer. I also rest, try to relax as much as possible and comply with the recommended measures."

A native of Cienfuegos, in central-southern Cuba, he said he speaks with his family every day and maintains contact with the Cuban Volleyball Federation.

He highlighted the contribution that trainers such as Camilo Soto, of Gigantes del Sur, and Fabián Armoa, of UPCN Voley San Juan, have given him in Argentina, and said that he dreams of the Cuba national team taking it to the highest world recognition. I hope that together we can achieve it.

Finally, he sent a message to the Cuban people: "I want to take this opportunity to ask my people to stay home for their family and friends, also for others, to take all precautions so that together you can soon overcome this pandemic and return to daily life," López noted.
