# Cuba Present at Maxence Larrieu Flute Competition in France

Cuba is present at the Maxence Larrieu International Flute Competition in France through the artist Niurka González, who is part of the competition's jury.

The event's organizing committee highlighted González's presence, as she is the only artist from Latin America among the prominent musicians from Europe and Asia who appear on the guest list.

According to their statement, during the event the academic will participate in the master classes and performances that will be offered by the jury members during those days.

The competition will take place until October 26 in the French city of Nice and will bring together young instrumentalists from around the world, among whom is also Cuban competitor Gabriela Carranza.

Winner of the first prize at the Paris Conservatory in 1997, Niurka holds a master's degree in Sciences in Hispanic Musical Heritage Management and works as a professor of the instrument.

In her artistic career she boasts performances in the United States, France, Spain, Austria, Germany, Italy, England, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Dominican Republic, and China.

The Maxence Larrieu International Flute Competition reaches its fourth edition with the honor of having the presence, in addition, of the eminent French flutist and pedagogue Maxence Larrieu who serves as president of the event.
