Virginia has 29 years of professional life and 38 years of artistic life. She was born in Guantánamo but currently resides in Tenerife, Spain.

The CD "Soy lo que soy" is her fifth recording, which turns out to be the artist's letter of introduction to the Cuban public, since her four previous phonograms were made outside of Cuba with a Canarian record label and received an award in the Varied Tropical Music category at CubaDisco 2019.

For the inhabitants of Guantánamo province, it is a joy to have Virginia Orihuela Bigñotte as a fellow countrywoman, a talented singer whose gifts have allowed her to enjoy popularity and her most recent success, the CubaDisco 2019 Award.

On this occasion, Virginia Guantanamera, as she is known in the artistic world, was awarded the album "Soy lo que soy" in the Best Varied Tropical Music Album category, distributed by Producciones Abdala and which includes among its ten tracks titles such as "Soltando notas," "La Vie," "Sentimiento," "Soy," "Yo traigo un son," and "Como es posible."
