Miguel Angel Lopez Castro is a Cuban volleyball player born on March 25, 1997, in Cienfuegos. Standing 1.89 meters tall and competing as an outside hitter, he is known in the volleyball world as El Cubano Volador (The Flying Cuban) or El Corcho (The Cork), nicknames that reflect his extraordinary jumping ability, reaching up to 3.72 meters above the ground when attacking.

He began playing volleyball at age 10 in his hometown. He rose through Cuba's youth ranks, winning a silver medal at the Under-21 World Championship, before making his debut with the senior national team in 2016. With the Cuban national squad, he won a bronze medal at the 2017 Pan American Cup and a gold medal at the 2019 edition held in Colima, Mexico.

At club level, Lopez has made a name for himself in Japan's top-tier SV.League, where he plays for Osaka Bluteon (formerly known as Panasonic Panthers). In his second consecutive season with the team, he has established himself as one of the most explosive outside hitters on the circuit, sharing offensive duties with Japanese star Yuji Nishida.
