Cuban actor, narrator, screenwriter, and director. Founder and director of the literary and theatrical creation group NOS-Y-OTROS.

He was born in Moscow, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, USSR, on October 9, 1962. He lives in Havana. He studied at the Lenin Vocational School. He earned a degree in Art History from the University of Havana in 1985.

I have been included in various national and foreign anthologies. My short stories have appeared in publications from Mexico, the United States, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, and Italy.

I was a professor of Latin American Art History and History of Photography at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana, from 1990 to 1995.

I have taken workshops on screenwriting with specialists Jorge Goldenberg (Argentina), Tom Abrams, and Walter Bernstein (USA) at the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba), during 1995-96. At the same center I was hired as a consultant and advisor for the final works of directing students (2003, 2004).

I have taught courses on screenwriting in Managua (Nicaragua) in February 2000, and New York (USA) in October 2000. I have advised the theses of directing students at the International School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, from 2003 to 2005. I was hired as a professional screenwriter in Tenerife, Spain, in 2005-06.

I have obtained, among others, the Abril awards (1988, 1992), Italo Calvino (1996, in Italy), AHS Calendar (1997), the Revolución y Cultura Short Story Prize (1998), the Fantoche Award for Police Short Stories (2015).

At the 12 Poor Cinema Festival of Gibara (April 20-24, 2016) I won the Special Jury Award for Unpublished Screenplay granted by the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective (BFC) for Best Unpublished Feature Film Fiction Screenplay, for my screenplay Making.

Founder and director of the literary and theatrical creation group NOS-Y-OTROS, from 1982 until its dissolution in 1997. As a member of the group, I performed in numerous theaters throughout Cuba.

I have participated in film festivals in Innsbruck (Austria), Locarno, and Fribourg (Switzerland), Munich and Frankfurt (Germany), Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic), Cannes (France), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Isola (Slovenia), Santiago and Viña del Mar (Chile), Gramado (Brazil), Porto (Portugal).

In March 2002, I was part of the International Jury of the Fribourg festival.

In June 2003, I was part of the International Jury of the Innsbruck Festival.
