# Baby Lores says he was pulled off a Miami flight while trying to see his mother in Cuba

**Date:** 10/04/2026

Miami-based Cuban singer Baby Lores said on Saturday, October 3, 2026, that he was made to get off a plane at Miami International Airport minutes before takeoff as he rushed to Cuba to see his mother, who is in intensive care. By his account, he bought a ticket, boarded and was already in his seat when he was told to leave the aircraft.

“I decided to buy a ticket and Cuba denied me entry; they took me off the plane,” he said in a video recorded at the terminal. In a written post he added that he had received no official explanation and had not known of any entry restriction until that moment.

The singer attributes what happened to his recent public statements about conditions on the island, in which, in his words, he speaks out against what he considers “abuses, censorship and repression.” As of Sunday, Cuban authorities had not publicly commented on the case or on any reasons for it. “I’m not talking about ideologies. I’m talking about a mother and her son,” he wrote, adding that the episode will not silence him.

In January 2025, he said at the time, he had been able to travel to Cuba for the first time in six years. His account was reported by outlets including Infobae, Telemundo 51 and Diario Las Américas, based on his social-media posts.
