Cuban comedian Andy Vázquez, best known as Facundo Correcto on Vivir del Cuento, spoke to his fans in a video on his Facebook page four days after a diabetes episode sent him to a Miami medical center on October 22.

In the clip, sipping a sugar-free coffee, the actor thanked people for their messages of support and described how close to death he felt: "I saw the three steps to heaven." He said he arrived at the hospital "almost dying, praying." According to his account, as reported by CubitaNOW, Cubaaldia and La Antena, he started feeling sick while driving after filming a commercial at a Miami restaurant, with his blood sugar reaching 273 and his blood pressure dropping to 80/40.

Vázquez, who was baptized at a Miami church in April, quoted a Bible passage about the body as a temple to talk about the duty to take care of oneself. "From now on, my life changes," he said, signing off with "we keep fighting" and some advice for his followers: "Health and sugar-free coffee; let's take care of ourselves, because life is meant to be enjoyed."

The scare forced him to cancel his October 23 show at Supermachi, where comedian Ramón Mustelier filled in. He did not share new details about his treatment in the video.
