# Andy García and San Miguel Pérez Release “Que se vayan,” a Song Dedicated to Cuba

Cuban-American actor and filmmaker Andy García released on April 3, 2026, a musical collaboration with Cuban musician San Miguel Pérez titled Que se vayan ("Let them go"), presented as a tribute to Cuba. The song was written by both artists and produced by San Miguel Pérez alongside producer Jake Carmona.


San Miguel Pérez, originally from Río Cauto, Granma, and based in Los Angeles, is a singer, composer and instrumentalist specializing in the tres cubano, a traditional Cuban guitar. In the piece, Andy García lends his voice in spoken-word passages, while San Miguel Pérez carries the song’s vocal and musical thread.


The release was announced the day before the premiere through the musician’s social media with the message “A beautiful song for Cuba.” The title Que se vayan echoes a persistent longing within the Cuban diaspora and joins a long tradition of exile artists who have used music as a form of cultural and political expression. The collaboration reinforces García’s enduring bond with his Cuban roots, also visible in earlier projects such as The Lost City (2005) and the album José Martí, Versos de Cuba, Canciones de Libertad (2023).
