**Date:** 08/01/2023

After completing the glorious feat of ascending Mount Everest, an official certificate was awarded to Cuban alpinist Yandy Núñez.

A few months ago, Cuban alpinist Yandy Núñez made headlines after managing to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Without a doubt, this is a very important achievement; especially since he is the first Caribbean person to complete this challenge.

However, in addition to the personal satisfaction that all of this entails, the Government of Nepal through its Department of Tourism wanted to recognize the achievement. Therefore, they issued an official certificate recognizing Yandy Núñez as the first Cuban to climb Mount Everest.

This was announced by Núñez on his social networks; where he has kept us very informed of every step taken during this fascinating adventure. Consequently, through a recent post he shared the happy news with his followers; while also showing an image of the document.

From the image, you can see that the recognition is issued by the Government of Nepal; displaying the official insignias. Likewise, although much of the document is in Nepali language; the description of the recognition is in English language.

"This certifies that Mr. Yandy Nunez Martinez, national of Cuba, has successfully climbed (Sagarmatha 8848.86m.) on 17-05-2023", states the document. Subsequently, they note that this achievement was accomplished as part of the mountaineering Expedition Team "HIMALAYAN ASCENT EVEREST EXPEDITION 2023".

Likewise, in his post the Cuban mountaineer Yandy Núñez appeared extremely excited to share this recognition of his ascent to Everest. In this way, through his comments he expressed his satisfaction with this achievement; dedicated especially to his fellow countrymen.

"Dear friends, today I received my Everest Summit Certificate. A certificate I was very much looking forward to upon my return from Nepal", he commented. "First Cuban at the summit of Everest", he subsequently celebrated.

Furthermore, Yandy Núñez confessed that when he reached the summit of Mount Everest he kept his beloved Cuban people very much in mind. Consequently, he assured that while there he made several videos dedicated to his people, defending and demanding their rights and freedoms.

Finally, hundreds of people left comments for Núñez congratulating him on such an important achievement. Similarly, the post has been very well received by internet users, who did not hesitate to give it a well-deserved like.

After several weeks of climbing, and overcoming various challenges, Cuban mountaineer Yandy Núñez managed to reach the highest point of Everest on May 17, 2023.

From the beginning of this daring, yet fascinating, adventure Yandy showed great enthusiasm and pride in carrying the Cuban flag. As a result, from day one he expressed that he would give his all in climbing the mountain, with the objective of exalting and honoring his country.

Therefore, after reaching the highest point of Mount Everest, the mountaineer did not hesitate to dedicate a few words to his beloved Cuban people. "First Cuban at the summit of Everest", celebrated Yandy. "Dedicated to my grandmother, to Cuba, to all Cubans… I left Cuba and conquered the world", he added.

As we were commenting weeks ago, the ascent of Cuban mountaineer Yandy Núñez on Mount Everest was a personal goal he set for himself years ago. However, his arrival at the highest point of the mountain is an achievement that goes far beyond that.

And that is because, in addition to successfully climbing a mountain located at a height of 8,848 meters above sea level, he obtained great recognition for his country. And to date, no other Caribbean mountaineer had managed to touch the summit of the Himalayas.

Therefore, on Wednesday, May 17, Yandy Núñez became the first Cuban to climb Mount Everest. This "historic" moment was also shared on the social media of "Ascent Himalaya", where the ascent of the legendary mountain is promoted.

"A historic moment was achieved by Yandy Núñez, a resilient climber from Cuba but who lives in Iceland", they reported. "Yandy Núñez has made history as the first Cuban to conquer the summit" they also indicated.

Likewise, other media outlets celebrated this achievement of the Caribbean native; who with courage and heroism has filled his country with profound pride. Such is the case of the blog "Everest Today", where they also gave the news and congratulated Yandy for reaching the goal.

"Breaking limits and reaching new heights!", they expressed in a post shared on social media. "Congratulations, Yandy Núñez Martínez, for being the first Cuban to have reached the summit of Mount #Everest (8848.86 m) this morning", they subsequently added.

This is the second time Yandy has ventured to climb the Himalayas; his first attempt being in 2019. However, on that occasion, he was unable to complete the challenge because the low temperatures significantly affected his health.

Despite this, and after a long wait due to the Covid19 pandemic, he was finally able to resume his initiative last April. As a result, during all this time he trained hard to ensure his success; obtaining fabulous results.
