# Acosta Danza to Perform at Havana Vieja, City in Motion Festival

Acosta Danza, the acclaimed dance company of Cuban ballet star and choreographer Carlos Acosta, will take the stage on Thursday, April 24, as part of the 30th International Dance Festival in Urban Landscapes Habana Vieja, Ciudad en Movimiento (Old Havana, City in Motion).


According to Prensa Latina, student performers from the company will present a show at John Lennon Park in the Vedado neighborhood of Havana, promising "new emotions" for audiences.


The festival, organized by the Danza Teatro Retazos collective in partnership with the Office of the City Historian of Havana, is dedicated to bringing cultural life to public spaces and streets across the Cuban capital. The 30th edition runs from April 23 to 26, 2026, featuring national and international companies performing across the key cultural venues of Old Havana's historic district.


Founded by Carlos Acosta in late 2015 — with its artistic debut in April 2016 — Acosta Danza blends classical and contemporary ballet techniques with Cuban dance traditions. The company has earned significant international recognition, including the UK National Dance Award as best medium-format company.
